Leonid Kravchuk – the first president of modern Ukraine after Ukraine gained independence in 1991, as a result of the collapse of the USSR.

Born January 10, 1934 in the village of Great Zhytyn that Rivnynschyni. He studied at the Kiev State University as a teacher of social sciences. Leonid Kravchuk built a career in teaching and the party line of the Communist Party. In 1991, Leonid Kravchuk was elected the first president of modern Ukraine. In 1994, after the presidential elections was replaced by Leonid Kuchma.
