Museum of the History of Ukraine – a historic building, built during the Soviet Union. The museum houses works of art, ancient, archaeological sculptures, numismatic collections and historical exhibits.
The museum building was built in 1937-1939 years on the site of the Old Kiev mountain. Architect Joseph Karakis structure.
At the site of the museum in ancient times was the Tithe church until it was destroyed by the Communists in 1928. During the Soviet institution was renamed several times until 1991, when Ukraine became independent, the museum received the status of National.
Museum of the History of Ukraine – one of the most famous in Ukraine, the fund has more than 800 million units of monuments of history and culture.
