Vasyl Stus biography – a prominent Ukrainian poet, translator and dissident. Vasyl Stus was born January 6, 1938 in the village Rahnivka in Vinnytsia region. Later his family moved to the city of Donetsk. He studied in 245 young poet-that school and graduated with honors. After high school comes Basil comes in Pedagogical Institute.

After graduating from high school with honors and went to work as a teacher and rural school in Kirovohrad, where he worked for 3 years. After teaching Vasyl Stus Army took the Urals. The army began to write his first poems and translations of German poets. Once again the army has worked as a teacher in Gorlovka. Also worked at the mine and the newspaper “Socialist Donbass”.

Later moved to Kyiv and enrolled in graduate of the Academy of Sciences. Taras Shevchenko. To show the film “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors” took part in protests calling: release from the camps Ukrainian intelligentsia. After that, he was expelled from graduate school.
